Bye-Lori Eliminates Need For Prilosec

Q Bye-Lori has enabled me to stop taking the prescription acid-blocker Prilosec. Many thanks!

Comment: People with stomach pain or heartburn who take antacids, such as Prilosec® or Prevacid®, may find temporary relief, but these drugs may further suppress the production of the hydrochloric acid that is necessary to maintain vitamin B12 levels and the proper kinds and levels of stomach bacteria.1 The ulcer-causing bacterium Helicobacter pylori is known to be one cause of vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, and eradicating it can help restore proper B12 levels.

If the stomach is infected with these or other pathogenic bacteria, use any reasonable means to kill the bugs, which should help prevent ulcers and allow existing ones to heal. Following that, augment (don’t suppress) stomach acid with supplements designed to maintain acidity and discourage excessive bacterial growth. Beyond Bye-Lori, the use of ProBone-O Drops should be considered for maintaining adequate vitamin B12 levels.
