H. pylori Symptoms
Q Can H. pylori cause joint pain, insomnia, chronic fatigue, and food allergies? I have been suffering from all of them for quite some time and suspect that the culprit may be H. pylori. Although I am otherwise healthy, I have not been able to determine what is ailing me, despite having been tested for low thyroid, diabetes, Candida albicans, etc.—but not yet for H. pylori.

A H. pylori is a suspected cause of joint pain and possibly chronic fatigue, but there appears to be no evidence for an insomnia connection. However, because H. pylori causes gastritis (inflammation of the gastric mucosa), this could exacerbate the effects of long-term exposure to food allergens. The combined inflammations could conceivably represent enough of a disturbance to interfere with sleep. Therefore, it is probably a good idea to be tested for H. pylori.
Mastic gum has been found to be effective in arresting H. pylori, without the hassle of the triple drug therapy traditionally used or the deleterious side effects, including those caused by the use of systemic antibiotics.
