Regarding Dr. Trager’s Hearing-Support Supplement
Q I am wondering why the product description for Dr. Trager’s formulation makes no specific reference to the potential treatment of tinnitus symptoms, when the patent application submitted (#20070248690) for this product cites three case examples, all clinically relating to tinnitus, and, presumably offering evidence of efficacy for this affliction. I would appreciate some feedback on this omission.

A The FDA does not permit medical claims for supplements. Even though there is an open question about whether tinnitus is a disease, it is wise to avoid conflict, especially given the recent increase in the aggressiveness of the federal government.
