CoQ10 Combats Alzheimer’s

Repairing or preventing mitochondrial damage can make a big different in preserving memory or even preventing Alzheimer’s disease. While the relationship between CoQ10 and neurodegenerative disease is not new, recent research is investigating alternative mechanisms that are increasingly likely to open the path to new findings. In a recent Indian paper, researchers reported that the neuroprotective effect of CoQ10 could be due to its microglia inhibitory mechanism, along with its mitochondrial restoration and anti-oxidant properties. Knowledge of the microglia inhibitory mechanism could lead to herbal medicines and dietary supplements, such as catechol-containing antioxidants.
